Summary
Pharmacy interior design has evolved dramatically — from clinical white to warm atmospheres.
From clinical to warm
For decades French pharmacies were designed as medical spaces: clinical whites, cold light, gray melamine. Today's pharmacies borrow codes from bookstores, herbalists, cosmetics boutiques.
Color palette
White remains but not dominant. Medical green appears in discrete touches. Working palettes combine naturals, light woods, accent colors like olive green, deep blue, terracotta.
Materials: wood, laminate, glass, metal
Wood is the star material. HPL laminate for high-use surfaces. Glass for lightness. Metal in touches — brushed brass for premium, matte black for modern.
Atmosphere and lighting
Multi-layer lighting: general 4000K, accent spots, ambient warm zones. 500-700 lux in retail, 800-1000 lux in preparation. Ambient music at 50-55 dB.
